Angel One Fund invested in memoryOS, an app to improve memory

MemoryOS, an ed-tech startup with Ukrainian-Swedish roots, has raised an investment from Ukrainian venture capital fund Angel One Fund to scale its product. The startup was founded in 2019 by Alex Ruzh, a serial entrepreneur, and Jonas von Essen, a two-time world memory champion. A team of professionals works with them to develop the product: Vadym Kovtun is in charge of finance, Paul Deretsky is in charge of marketing and customer service, and game developers, artificial intelligence experts, and neuroscientists are involved. memoryOS combines a game-based approach (gamification), artificial intelligence, and scientifically proven memorization methods to improve users’ cognitive abilities. By making advanced mnemonic methods available to a wide audience, the startup helps to transfer the necessary information from short-term memory to long-term memory.

“We believe that our technology has the potential to change the way people learn and retain information. With results where 73% of users report a rapid improvement in their memory abilities and a 79% increase in recall accuracy, we are confident that memoryOS is a catalyst for change. In a world where information overload costs businesses about $900 billion annually in lost productivity and where workers process 5 times more data than a decade ago, our mission becomes even more important. We strive to help people overcome information overload and reduce the stress of constantly having to remember a huge amount of important information. This round of investment will allow us to develop the platform and help even more people around the world,” said Alex Ruzh, CEO of memoryOS.

memoryOS has become the most successful app in the history of Kickstarter, with over 500,000+ downloads worldwide, was featured on TechCrunch, and recognized by Google Brands Accelerator as a product that is “light years ahead of any other company in the memory industry.” The team is planning to release the long-awaited memoryOS 2.0, which will include improved navigation, personalized learning experiences powered by advanced AI, as well as enhanced skill tracking and community engagement.

This was the fifth portfolio investment for Angel One Fund.

“The investment in memoryOS aligns with our strategy to support technology solutions with Ukrainian roots that have strong potential for scalability and global competitiveness. The memoryOS team combines deep expertise in educational technology with a systematic approach to product development. We are confident that their innovative approach to memory enhancement can set new standards in the ed-tech industry and shape the future of learning worldwide,” said Ivan Petrenko, Managing Partner of Angel One Fund.
